SIGMUND FREUD CHRONOLOGY

	Marriage to Martha Bernays.
	After his return from Paris he opens a private medical practice specializing in nervous diseases. He is also director of the neurological section of Max Kassowitz's Institute for Children's Diseases and continues work on cerebral anatomy.
	He gives a lecture to the Society of Doctors on male hysteria summarizing his studies in Paris but it is badly received by the Viennese medical fraternity.
	On September 13, after a four year engagement, he marries his fiancee Martha Bernays.

	He publishes: "On the origin of the acoustical nerve", "Observation of a severe case of hemi-anaesthesia in a hysterical male" and the translation of Charcot's "Lectures on the Diseases of the Nervous System".
