SIGMUND FREUD CHRONOLOGY

	Freud is employed as doctor at Theodor Meynert's Psychiatric Clinic.

	Freud works in Theodor Meynert's laboratory of cerebral anatomy and as a researcher at Hermann Nothnagel's medical clinic. Freud's employment at Meynert's Clinic in 1883 gives him his first experience of psychiatry.
	This period sees the beginning of his friendship with Dr Josef Breuer who tells him about a patient he treats by "the talking cure". This is the case known as "Anna O." in the "Studies in Hysteria".
	Martha moves from Vienna to Wandsbek, near Hamburg, in 1883 and Freud is only able to see her during five short visits over the next three years. They carry on a prolific and passionate correspondence.
