Brusatti reads, Dobrek plays
OPENING: City Councilor Andreas Mailath-Pokorny
The search for European identities leads unavoidably into the fields of music and literature: remembrance is never "state-sponsored exchangeable agendas and festive nostalgias," but rather a wordless and word-rich transposition of memories. Conscious and unconscious elements are wrapped like an eastern arc around Austria. The Viennese duo Dobrek Bistro will play heart-warming, eerie, virtuosic and breathtaking music originating from the region extending from Poland into the Balkans. Otto Brusatti will read between national calls to action and the attempts they make to penetrate hearts and souls.
Otto Brusatti is a musicologist, historian and author.
The duo Dobrek-Bistro is formed by Krzysztof Dobrek (accordion) and Aliosha Biz (violin).
A cooperative event presented by the IFK and SFF within the framework of the series "Kunst in der Musiksammlung".
