Sigmund Freud Society

The Sigmund Freud Society was founded in Vienna in 1968 as a scientific association. Its goal is to promote and support research on the theory and practice of psychoanalysis with a special emphasis on the work of Sigmund Freud.

Currently the Sigmund Freud Society has approximately 500 members worldwide, including psychoanalysts, physicians and scientists as well as artists and students. Anyone who is interested in psychoanalysis can become a 1 member.

Membership

As a member of the Sigmund Freud Society, you and your guest receive free admission to the Sigmund Freud Museum and to special exhibitions. You can also participate in the lectures, book presentations and panel discussions that are presented by the Sigmund Freud Museum.

Further, you can use the Library of the Sigmund Freud Foundation, the largest library in Europe devoted especially to psychoanalysis, during its opening hours (every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). In addition to using books at the library, members may also borrow them.
