A View from OutsideIn the course of an expansion in 2001, the Sigmund Freud Museum acquired the building’s storefront, which once housed Siegmund Kornmehl‘s kosher butcher shop. With this store front shop, the museum acquired an “exterior” showroom. The windows of the storefront allow a new definition of the museum’s entrance area as a place for artistic intervention. The invitation of the American artist Joseph Kosuth in January 2002 was the first step to an occupation with this new kind of contact between art and outdoor space. A View from Outside
