1918 Sigmund Freud starts psychoanalyzing Anna
1920 Anna and Sigmund Freud attend the International Psychoanalytical Congress at The Hague
1922 Lecture „Beating Phantasies and Daydreams" at Vienna Psychoanalytical Society. Membership of the society
1923 Anna begins her own psychoanalytical practise with children at Berggasse 19
1923 Sigmund Freud begins suffering from cancer. Anna becomes his closest confidant
1927 Her first book Einführung in die Technik der Kinderanalyse is published 
1927 Anna Freud becomes General Secretary of the International Psychoanalytical Association (until 1934)
1935 Director of the Vienna Psychoanalytical Training Institute
1936 The Ego and the Mechanisms of Defence is published
1937 Formation of the „Jackson Nursery“
